Who was Madame Forester and how did she help Matilda?​

Madam Forestier was a weathly lady ,who was the childhood friend of Matilda.Matilda did not have any jewel that she can wear at the Minister's ball.Mme Forestier helps Matilda by lending her her diamond necklace,which as discovered later was not real.
